Design

The design here is simple. It comes with a two-tone finish with black on the sides and with silver on the front. The front face has a design which kind of resembles the Samsung galaxy S5’s backplate design. It is not that bad, though. Another advantage of this design is that it is not as big as other desktops we are used to. So it will take less space than before.

There are 2 USB ports and a media card reader on the front which is great for accessibility. The back side plays home for the rest of the ports. The desktop weighs around 16 pounds, so moving this around won’t be much of a problem. But we hope you don’t plan to do that a lot. Overall, this desktop has a neat design and will fit in well.

HP Pavilion 550-110 Specs

The processor that runs this HP Pavilion 550-110 desktop is an Intel Core i3 chip. This i3 chip is from the Haswell generation and is also the main reason for the low price of this rig. The i3 4170 chip is a dual-core processor that clocks at 3.7GHz. It might only be an i3, but it does pack a punch.

HP Pavilion 550-110 desktopWith a PassMark score of 5172, this processor is better than many mid-range processors in the latest generation. You can do a lot with this guy around and that includes even some high-end stuff like working on photos and such.

Even though this is a near budget device, HP has included eight gigs of RAM in the memory department. This gives you, the user, to multitask without any issues. You can now have more than a few tabs in your browser and enjoy an excellent browsing experience.

This computer is not meant for a gamer. There is no dedicated video card here, and with the integrated GPU solution, you can play some mid-range games. You might be able to some AAA titles, but that will force you to reduce the settings in order to get a decent frame rate. If you are looking for a gaming desktop, this is not it.

The HP Pavilion 550-110 desktop comes with 1TB of space which should be more than enough for an average user. There is a lot of space to play with, and you can unleash all your videos, movies, songs, pictures and much more in it.

The hard drive also brings you the latest operating system in it. Windows 10 is way better than its predecessors in a lot of ways. Features like Cortana, Xbox streaming, and others ones will change the way you look at things.

There are a lot of connectivity options on this machine. You get USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, Display ports, VGA port, HDMI port, media card reader, and also a DVD writer which can be of help as well.

HP Pavilion 550-110 Review: Verdict

We’ve come to the end of this HP Pavilion 550-110 review. This is a decent mid-range desktop but given the price you can get more out of it. If you are searching for a nice desktop computer under $500, go for it.
