Design

This is a traditional desktop, so don’t expect anything compact here. It is big. But it will still fit in your room without taking a lot of space. The front end has a glossy finish with the HP logo at the bottom. You have access to a couple of ports in the front while the rest can be found at the back.

The power button is on the top right corner. You can find the DVD burner just below the power button. The ventilation happens through the sides so that the desktop doesn’t get heated much. They have kept some design elements from their previous models in the Pavilion series which is not a bad idea after all.

This desktop is powered by an AMD A8 6500 processor. This is a quad-core processor that clocks at 3.5GHz. The clocking frequency can be improved to 4GHz with the help of a turbo boost. You can call this processor as an Intel i5 equivalent.

It runs the operating system and other applications without any lag. You can work on your documents, edit photos and videos and do a lot more with the power this processor gives you. Even processor hungry applications run without any performance issues.

The memory comes with 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM. This is plenty for a mid range desktop. It allows you to multi task freely without feeling held back. You can run many things at the same time and there is hardly any lag which is great for productivity.

We feel that 8GB of RAM should be enough for a mid range user. But if you are a power user who need some more then you can upgrade the memory to 16GB in the future as it is user upgradeable.

This is the latest and offer a great set of features. Though not everyone’s favorite it still is a good OS once you get used to it.

 The graphics card in this desktop is an integrated AMD Radeon graphics chip. This is great for moderate gaming. If you are a serious gamer, then you’ll have to tone down the settings a bit to run graphically intensive games.

There are loads of connectivity options which include a couple of USB 2.0 ports, a couple of USB 3.0 ports, a VGA port, a DVI-D port and audio ports. The desktop support 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN which is great for faster internet connectivity. There is also a DVD writer and a 7 in 1 multimedia card reader which can be very handy.
