Design

The design of this desktop is slightly different when compared to the regular desktops in the Inspiron line. The cabinet is shorter and will take up less space which is great if you want something sleeker than usual. On the front face, you can see a couple of USB 3.0 ports and a media card reader. There is also a DVD drive and a headphone jack.

The backside has a traditional layout where you will find some USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet port, jacks for your peripherals, and the regular connectivity stuff. There is also a fan that should keep things under control when you are doing some hot stuff.

Dell Inspiron i3650-1551SLV Specs

The first thing you should know is that this is a standalone desktop. It does not come with a monitor, and you should get one separately. Now that we’ve talked about the absence of the monitor let’s get on to the more important specs.

The  Dell Inspiron i3650-1551SLV is powered by an Intel Core i3 processor. The i3 6100 processor is a 6th gen Intel chip that clocks at 2.5GHz. This dual-core processor is a very good choice and is also an efficient one as it is based on the Skylake architecture. There is no turbo boost here, so this is the maximum clock speed you will achieve.

Dell Inspiron i3650-1551SLV desktopThis processor gives you enough processing power to get on with your web browsing, casual games, editing photos for sharing on social media, and much more. If you are a student, this processor is perfect for all your school work and projects.

There are 8 gigs of memory here, and that is nice, to be honest. The memory we have here is of DDR3L type. This is a low voltage memory, and that will consume less power as a result. There is more space for you to add more memory and the maximum supported here is 16GB.

If you are someone who loves to do more than one thing at a time, this memory will serve you well. You can multitask to your heart’s content without slowing things down on your end.

There is a 1TB hard drive that can cater to all your storage needs. 1TB is slowly becoming the minimum storage you want in a computer as it offers you restriction-free space. But there is one issue, though. This is not that fast. If you had a flash storage, the speed you will be amazing. Sadly, that is not the case here. But for this price, we really can’t complain.

Windows 10 is the operating system here. If you loved Windows 7, you are in good hands.

There are several connectivity options in the Dell Inspiron i3650-1551SLV desktop. The desktop supports 802.11bgn and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity. There is an HDMI port that will allow you to connect this desktop to a high-end display. There is also a tray-load DVD drive that read and writes.

Dell Inspiron i3650-1551SLV Review: Verdict

One of the best things about this Dell Inspiron i3650-1551SLV desktop is that it is an all-around machine. It has some good processing power, nice multitasking abilities, and also comes with an affordable price tag. If you are looking for a desktop that will tend to your everyday work, this is a suitable option.
