Design

Just like other desktops in the XPS series, this one also comes in black. The tower design is something that has worked well for Dell. It has a glossy front which looks great. There is, however, the problem of attracting too many fingerprints after a while. There are also a few ports at your disposal on the front itself.

The remainder of the ports can be found on the back side. At the same side, you can also find the ventilation too. The desktop weighs around 15 pounds, so if you are someone who moves a lot, it could get hard depending on your physical strength. Overall, this is a tried and tested design that works just as well.

With the 2TB hard drive, you will not get deprived of storage space in the coming years. This is a lot of storage space, and you will be hard pressed to fill this one up. The sad thing here is the speed. Even though this is a 7200RPM hard drive, it is still not as fast as the solid state drives.

Dell could have included an SSD for the sake of performance, but they haven’t. If there is one con which could affect your workflow, it is this. You will be fine if you throw in an SSD, though.

Windows 10 is the OS here, and it brings in some new features like Edge Browser, Voice assistant in the name of Cortana, Xbox streaming and much more. You will enjoy this OS if you liked Windows 7.

There is a 19-in-1 media card reader and also a number of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports that should be handy for some high-speed data transfer. There is also an HDMI port for higher-end connectivity as well.
