Design
This might be a budget desktop, but Dell has taken the initiative to give this device a solid build. The entire body may not have aluminum, but the polycarbonate is of good quality and feels nice when you touch it. One of the advantages of having an all-in-one desktop is that you get everything at the same place, and it is even better here. The desktop itself is sleek and will take less room than ever.
The stand at the back is sturdy and holds the desktop well. There are a few ports on the back that can be reached easily. It doesn’t weigh much and, as a result, moving this thing around won’t require much of an effort. Overall, a neat design for a super budget device.
Dell Inspiron i3052-1020BLK Specs
The Dell Inspiron i3052-1020BLK comes with a 19.5-inch LED-backlit Truelife screen. It has an enhanced HD resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels which is better than the traditional HD. This resolution offers a better pixel density and this in turn results in better quality images.
You can use this display for watching HD movies, viewing videos taken on your smartphones and cameras, streaming tv series on Netflix, playing games and other kinds of media consumption as well.
The processor that powers this desktop is an Intel Celeron N3050 processor. The clocking frequency here is 1.6GHz, and sadly there is no turbo boost to increase the clock speed. This is an entry-level processor, and it is perfect for basic activities like browsing the web, checking social media, sending and receiving emails, watching movies and other simple tasks.
For memory, we have 2GB of DDR3L SD RAM. This is a very tiny amount of RAM considering modern day standards. The bare minimum these days would be 4GB, and this is less than that. There is not a lot you could do simultaneously with this kind of memory. But for a light user, this memory does help in smoothing things a bit. So if you are a light user, this should work out well.
When it comes to storage, there is both an advantage and a disadvantage here. There is a 32GB solid state drive for storage here. The good thing here is that you get a fast drive and, as a result, the opening and closing of apps will be faster. The bad thing is that you are getting a smaller drive for storage purposes. If you don’t have a lot to store, then this may not be a problem.
The desktop still has a bunch of connectivity options. There are 3 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports that can be helpful in transferring data at a good speed. There is also an optical drive that could come in handy if you have the need to write DVDs.
Dell Inspiron i3052-1020BLK Review: The Verdict
The Dell Inspiron i3052-1020BLK is an entry-level computer, and there is no arguing that. If you are a light, casual user who is searching for a very basic computer at a budget price, then this one is a good option.
