Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 review

i3 6100Even though many people prefer laptops to desktops, there is still a wide open market for desktop users. Some love the power a desktop brings and can’t live without one. In this Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 review, we are going to take a good look at this new desktop from Acer.

This desktop is made for casual and mid-range users. We say this because this desktop comes with an i3 chip that is mainly used for light stuff. The other specs are also discussed below so you can get a clear idea of what this desktop computer is capable of accomplishing.

Design

This desktop here is a redesigned computer. When compared to the usual tower PCs, it is just one third the size which makes this super compact. It will easily fit anywhere in your room without taking too much room. It also comes in black which is pretty much everyone’s favorite color when it comes to desktops.

The front face is simple with a couple of USB ports and headphone/mic jacks. On the left side, there are small vents that can help in cooling the desktop. The rest of the ports and connectivity options are located on the backside. You also get a regular USB keyboard and a mouse which kind of does what they intend to. No surprises there.

Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 Specs

The Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 desktop is powered by an Intel Core i3 6100U processor. This is a 6th generation Intel chip that comes with 2 cores and a clock speed of 3.7GHz. There is no turbo boost in this case, but the normal clock speed kind of makes up for it.

This is a pretty good processor even if it is just an i3. This piece of silicon gets a CPUMark score of around 5499 which is excellent for everyday use. You can run stuff like web browsers, photo and video editors, casual games, and office suites without any problems. If you are a student or a light user, this processor is a perfect fit for your needs.

The memory here is an 8GB DDR3 1600MHz UDIMM memory. It is a decent amount of memory, and it hits the sweet spot, to be honest. You can multitask to your heart’s content, and do more. You can also upgrade the memory to 16GB if you think you need more. But honestly, we think this memory is the right size for the processor in charge, anything more will just be overkill.

Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 desktopThere is a 2TB 5400RPM hard drive. This is a huge drive and will cater to all your storage needs. You can load anything you want to without even holding back a teeny bit. But this is a slow drive and will tire you after some time. You can improve the speed by opting for a solid state drive or even a hybrid hard drive.

The graphics card on this Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 desktop is an integrated Intel HD 530 GPU. This is definitely not as powerful as the discrete graphics cards. It can help you with some moderate gaming like DOTA, and similar games. For more intense games, you will have to reduce the settings. Even then you will only get a playable frame rate of 20 to 30 frames per seconds at best.

The Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 comes with a lot fo options for connectivity. The desktop supports both 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 which is great for networking and connecting with external devices respectively. The desktop also has an RJ-45 port, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 HDMI ports, and also a DVD drive that both read and write.

Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 Review: Verdict

The Acer Aspire AX3-710-UR53 is not the best desktop out there on the market. But for the price, this is a pretty neat device that gives you enough to tackle all your day to day tasks. This is a perfect desktop if you are a student or a light/home user. Get this if you are looking for a simple desktop at a decent price.
