Design

This is an all-in-one desktop from Acer. Any all-in-one desktop needs to be designed well as it has everything in one place and issues like heat management should be handled well. The desktop comes in white and the first impression is pretty impressive.

This desktop is not the thinnest in the market. There is a stand at the back that supports the desktop and offers two standing modes. The ports can be found at the back and are easily accessible. The front-facing speakers should be able to provide a good audio experience.

The desktop weighs just around 9.7 pounds. Even though not the lightest, it may not be that hard to move it around when the need arises. Overall, it is a very good design for a desktop computer.

There is no way to upgrade the RAM capacity, but we think that is unnecessary. The chrome OS does not have regular applications that eat a lot of RAM.  Here we only have web apps and chrome OS apps which aren’t great consumers of RAM.

There is no regular hard drive in this Acer Chromebase DC221HQ wmicz desktop. We only have a 16GB solid state drive which is super fast. The booting time of the desktop is just in seconds. The opening and closing of apps is also a lot faster.

This is more like a feature of a Chromebook. You only get SSDs and the not the regular SATA drives. As a result, you are restricted with a low storage solid state drive.

Gaming is possible if you are planning to play it online. The graphics performance of this Tegra chip is very good. As you can’t play mainstream games, this isn’t a great option for hardcore gamers.

There is a USB 3.0 port and also a headphone jack at the back. There is also a media card reader which can be handy for some.
