Wrestling competition (ಕುಸ್ತಿ ಪಂದ್ಯ) Magadi town

We ventured into Magadi town in search of a nice restaurant. Though we didn’t find any decent restaurant, we got to witness a wrestling event (ಕುಸ್ತಿ ಪಂದ್ಯ) in progress.

Local wrestling champions were engaged in a show of strength and art of wrestling, with crowd cheering them while dignitaries watched from an elevated stage. Besides physical strength, wrestling involves making calculated technical moves to protect oneself and preventing opponent getting upper hand. Similar to Karate and other such arts, it needs quick thinking, strong body and an ability to overpower the opponent within the set guidelines.
