Hyundai i30 Launch in India in 2012
This is a guest post about Hyundai's to be launched car, i30.
Hyundai has achieved good success in the Indian car market with their ‘i’ range of cars, namely the i10
and the i20. Infact, the Hyundai i20 in India was initially perceived as an expensive hatchback and sold
in low numbers but now, the car is doing brisk business and goes to show that the Indian consumer
is willing to shell out extra money for a hatchback that is high on cabin quality, passenger space and
premium features like eight air-bags, steering controls, automatic gearbox, sun-roof etc.
Hyundai recently showcased the new Hyundai i30 for the international market and we strongly believe
that going by the success of the i10 and i20, this could be the next product for the Indian market. (After the 800cc ion due later this month) On the design front, the Hyundai i30 for India looks fabulous with Hyundai’s fluidic design DNA very apparent. It is a huge hatchback dimension wise and has awesome road presence. It has modern design angles and looks sleek and very upmarket. For example, the side crease starts from the front wheel arch and carries on to the side line and ends under the rear tail lamps. Similarly, the roof line also slopes down like a coupe and adds to the overall sportiness of the car.
If launched, the Hyundai i30 in India will come with both petrol and diesel options. The petrol will be a
1.4-litre engine, the same that powers the new Verna as well. The diesel will be better seller of the two
and is expected to be the same engine that again powers the new Verna. We can also expect a 5-speed
automatic gearbox option on the i30.
The Hyundai i20 price in India currently starts at over Rs 4.5 lakh for the base version. Given the fact that
the Hyundai i30 is a bigger vehicle with better features and bigger engines, we can safely expect the new
Hyundai i30 price in India to start at around the Rs 5.5 to 6 lakh mark at which it makes for a brilliant
alternative to the similar priced sedans. The Hyundai i30 in India is expected to be showcased at the
upcoming Auto Expo in 2012 with a probable launch in the first quarter of the next calendar year.

Being a big car on the outside, the new Hyundai i30 is expected to have cabin space that will shame
sedans that cost more. The i30 in India also will have very modern and chic interiors with high quality
plastics and lot of chrome inserts at various places like around the air vents, gearbox and steering wheel.
Like is the case with the i20, even the i30 gets blue back lighting for the buttons and dials. The i30 will
easy seat five large sized adults with ease and has sedan rivaling boot space as well. The top end models
are expected to come with sun-roof and integrated navigation system as options.
