Latest iPhone 5 rumours round-up
Heck, we're gettin' really excited for the iPhone launch coming in a fews days! For those who haven't found out yet, Apple officially sent out invitations to various media organizations on Tuesday saying, 'Let's talk iPhone'. Apple fanboys and girls all around the world are getting ready to be awed once more at the yearly release.
In the past, Apple has used its invitation to include cryptic hints as to what it will announce. The phrase on this year's invite, 'Let's talk iPhone,' may be a simple play on words, but may also refer to new speech-based features for the iPhone. Last year, Apple acquired voice-recognition application startup 'Siri' and added some voice-to-text features to iOS 4, so an enhancement to those features wouldn't be too surprising.
Also it's rumoured that the new iPhone won't be sporting the required hardware to enable it on the blazing-fast 4G LTE network. Instead you'll probably see something like the 4G lite, which is faster than 3G but slower than LTE (21Mbps vs. 7.2Mbps). What's the reason? The style and form factor to keeping it slim. Having LTE capabilities will require more bulk for the hardware, which we're sure Apple won't be considering doing anytime soon. Speaking of speed however, the new iPhone will most likely have an increase in processing power and an increase in the amount of RAM.
We would also like to add a note on our previous post about the iPhone, where it's rumoured that Apple may be releasing an iPhone 4GS instead of an iPhone 5. This still could be possible due to the fact that Apple has decided to hold the event at their headquarters this year, instead of renting out a larger venue in San Francisco. A setting for a low-key event for a lower-keyed release? Maybe.
Here are some other speculations on the specs you may see:
- 8-Megapixel Camera
- Larger Screen
- Full 1080p video recording
- Possible major redesign (thinner and tapered)
That's it! We'll keep everyone posted via our twitter handle: @blipthis, or pop over to our Facebook page and hit the 'Like' button for the latest.
You better believe we're going to report on the new iPhone when it's unveiled!!!
